Chilango`s Burrito Bar in Jackson

I was in Jackson to visit one of my friend and he suggested this place for dinner. This place is in downtown jackson and there is plenty of parking everywhere. We wanted to get a burrito but, they were out of tortilla so we ended up getting a burrito bowl. We got chicken as meat and the meat was tender snd succulent. Overall, I enjoyed the food. Some of my complaints about this place is lack of up keep.

No pride anymore. No flavor. Overcooked stale nacho chops that have been sitting out in a big bin all day.. No longer fresh.. Horrible taste and hard as a rock.All the toppings had flies all around them.. Been sitting a long time too, no flavor either.This place has gone very downhill. Especially considering how expensive it is. Better off going to Taco Bell. The quality and taste of Chilangos is no longer better than Taco Bell. Taco Bell is actually clean and flavorful. They have standards obviously..

Next level burrito bar, must visit. The staff give the perfect amount of sass that combined with the incredible food makes you feel at home. I live in Ann Arbor and easily make the drive.

August 5 2019 -- Burrito press has been broken for more than 2 1/2 months now! They are still using cheep store bought shells as a substitute :( Side entrance door has shattered glass and electronic menu is dark and unreadable.... Use to be my favorite place to eat a burrito in town - now I would not recommend going there - The Business owner is doing a great job running it into the ground!

The food is bland, the shrimp doesn't taste like anything. Yeah, I'm just gonna make the trip to Ann Arbor for Chipotle from now on.

Expensive. Tasted good, but watched cook pour freshly made refried beans into the dried out refried beans that looked like they had been there all day. So I passed on the beans. Seemed sort of dirty everywhere.

Quality has went way down, it was our favorite place. Steak grisly, shells not fresh pressed anymore, rice looked and tasted old. Somebody call Gordon Ramsay, give them a wake up call!

Ordered the burrito... you better be hungry cause its huge and delicious. Service was great and friendly... great job guys

Some of my complaints about this place is lack of up keep. The place you order the food kind of looks dirty and you can see things scattered all of the cooking area. Then in the dining area we had to switch tables 3 times. First one was wobbling and second was really stickey. Napkins actually stuck to the table. And the third table was less stickey. This restaurant has a lot of potential if the put some effort.

Food was good; better than Taco Bell, average for a sit down authentic Mexican restaurant. Staff was small but very friendly. But the kitchen was having some issues while we were there. Tortilla press was broken, some pesky flies, food not covered in between uses. I'm a brave eater with a strong stomach, I'll give them a try again sometime. But if you have a weak stomach and are susceptible to food illnesses, you might want to wait until they clean up their kitchen.

First time come going in awhile. Definitely not what it used to be. Ordered nachos and there was no flavor. Everything was blandFor $9 I would expect better flavor then Taco Bell, but I guess not.

Never seen such horrible customer service, the mexican lady is horrible. Super obnoxious, horrible attitude. With literally every customer she had to deal with. ESPECIALLY when I asked for a table to be wiped off.. Garbage was overflowing too.. Unreal.. No napkins at any table either.. No cleaning or maintenance is ever done at this place.. Filthy and falling apart.. Employees dont care.

Good service great food all around good place to go

The food is delicious every time but they have started to slack since they opened. The eating and prepping area are dirty, bathroom out of order and some items are not ready when its early in their work day. Its to bad. This place could be one of the best in town.

Needs alot maintenance and workers don't care about it especially when it comes to refilling napkins or cleaning tables/emptying garbage..Mexican lady was especially rude and had a bad attitude with literally every customer. Horrible customer service from her. Worst I have seen in any restaurant ever and that says alot..Need to fire that hog.. Plain and simple.

Best burritos, burrito bowls, nachos..whatever you order, you're going to fall in love! Huge portions, definitely worth it! Open late for the after bar crowd, too!

I have always loved all the Chilangos restaurants. The Burrito Bar has great food but it isn't as clean as it once was. Same with the Chop House next door.

Absolutely worth every dollar! The food was amazing, and the make it for you there. My first time there, but definitely not my last!

The tortillas for their burritos are made fresh for you. And the steak Carne Asada is the best!! My dad enjoys their Chile Verde. My favorite burrito is mixing the Carne Asada and the chorizo with papas and then adding all the condiments you want. All their condiments are always fresh. Highly recommend this place

Ordered for a delivery on door dash and they did not replace what I ordered apparently very rude to the delivery driver pretty sad you can’t complete an order and want to get rude and refuse to make some one happy.

Get the crunchy bowl! It’s amazing and huge! The burritos are huge too, and also very delicious. You can’t go wrong here, although they do get very busy during the lunch rush. So plan to arrive earlier or a bit later than lunch time. 😊

This place is terrible. The corn tortillas were extremely brittle as if they were weeks old. The tacos were severely overpriced. The chicken and pork were beyond bland. I should've listened to the reviews. I will NEVER eat there again not will I ever recommend anyone to eat there. $14.00 for 4 lame tacos and a soda. SMH...

Everything has been sitting out for ages... Place needs some serious cleaning.. So unsanitary.. The health department would shut this place down if they knew.Workers even touch money and then use same gloves to make food. YUCK.

Took a friend who had never been. She loved it and planning to take her boyfriend right away. Small place with huge flavor.

The sign "Eat Like A Mexican" cracks me up since it's so vague but it's pretty good tex-mex food. The strawberry cheesecake chimichangas are fantastic. The chicken is awful. It has to be canned. The pork and steak tacos are delicious

Honestly, the food here is not that good for a vegan or vegetarian. There is little to no spice in the rice or beans which makes it nearly inedible. I'm sure that their food is good for meat eaters but for anyone else I would not recommend this place.

Disgusting. Owners have really let it go. Building is falling apart and filthy. Food has all been sitting out forever. Nothing cooked fresh anymore not even chips. Just awful. Done going.

Mexican lady from the back about got slapped.. Gets a horrible attitude with every customer.. No customer service value at all..Place needs serious maintenance.. Lacks alot. Not at all what it used to be when it opened.. Way downhill...

Whose rating this above a 3!!? No way..food was warmed or reheated 10x before and toppings like beans weren't hot. Most of the pics you see must have been when it was brand new. Place is dirty and run down. All tables dirty and ZERO napkin containers had a napkin. One bathroom out of service and the other had a broken knob so it didnt open. I see "authentic" in some reviews...ok, if you call unclean, sticky, and food sitting around for days authentic then go ahead. It was Bright Walls week but you can tell a lot about a business when its busy. Skip this place...never again.

This place is nothing like it used to be..The nacho chips aren't fresh anymore. Overcooked, flavorless and have been sitting out too long..The toppings are all old and flavorless now aswell.. Flies everywhere.. Workers dripping with sweat. So nasty.. No napkins at the tables..Done spending my money here.

Never been here before. Looking for something different to try. Nice place on the corner. Choose the stuff you want on your own burrito. They also have other choices and a salad (Chop Shop) next door Wasn't too busy so didn't have any trouble finding a place to sit. Good food nice people. I recommend giving it a try.

This was an awesome place! I'm from out of town and really enjoyed it. The food was all homemade including the tortilla for my burrito. The service was really good and the quaso was fantastic. The only issue was that it was really hot inside the building but that's a small price to pay for good food.

Even though the self-isolated and quarantined are likely ordering more takeout than usual, a problem with my DoorDasher didn't stop the staff at Chilangos from offering me a free replacement meal (I still dropped a $20 in the tip jar.) Please take care of those who take care of our community. Oh and the food is fresh and delicious!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Absolutely horrendous. Have given this place a few chances over the last year hoping it would change. Owners obviously don't care either.Everything has been sitting out for so long it's disgusting. Walked out today because of it. Unreal....... That was the last chance I am giving them. Boggles my mind that when they first opened it was great but now their isn't even a word for it. Beyond terrible.

The tacos were fantastic my favorite was the pork but the steak and chicken were phenomenal as well. The habanero sauce had the perfect mix of Fire & flavor. It's a good thing I don't live too close to this place or they'd never get me out of there.

MUST GO! I never got around to stopping here but this was so delicious and the ladies, we're so sweet and made me the most EPIC Burrito. Loved this place when they opened. Unfortunately it has went down hill over the past couple years. They used to make their own tortillas, now they don’t. Used to make they’re own chips, now they are store bought. Whole place just feels run down, menu TV screens have been burned out for at least a year. Sad to see what used to be one of my favorite lunch spots decline. Owners please take note of these reviews.
